Perspective, Purpose and Planning

Jun 18, 2026

In June, Alteris Women brought our community together across Brisbane and Sydney for two conversations centred on perspective, experience and financial decision-making.

From leadership and life balance to the role of property in long-term planning, each event created space to reflect, ask questions and learn from shared insights.

Brisbane: In Service of Truth

In Brisbane, we hosted an intimate evening with Jessica Lambert, Acting Coroner at the Coroners Court of Queensland and mother of five.

Jessica shared a candid perspective shaped by both her professional and personal life. Drawing on her experience at the intersection of law and humanity, she spoke openly about leadership, resilience and balancing the demands of work and family.

The discussion prompted thoughtful engagement, with many connecting to the honesty of her experience and the broader themes of adaptability and perspective. Between the stories shared and the new connections made, the evening reinforced the value of asking questions and learning from others.

The event also created an opportunity to give back. Through a raffle supporting The International Alliance for Women, more than $2,500 was raised for the PNG Gender Potential Unlimited Project, an initiative providing young women in Port Moresby with job-ready skills and pathways to opportunity.

‘’There’s always another perspective. Always something new to learn. Women are meant for everything!’’

Sydney: Property in Focus

In Sydney, more than 50 women gathered as conversations from previous events continued to build, with one topic consistently coming to the forefront: property.

In a market shaped by noise, pressure and strong opinions, many are stepping back to consider where property fits within their broader financial picture, not just as an asset, but as part of financial independence, lifestyle and long-term goals.

The session brought together Buyers Agent and Property Strategist Gayle Walker and Amy Atkinson, Senior Financial Adviser at Alteris. Together, they explored the current market and how to approach property decisions more strategically.

Through practical insights and shared experiences, the conversation shifted the focus from external expectations to personal alignment, giving attendees greater clarity on how property can support their overall financial journey.

Creating space for what matters

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Brisbane and Sydney. Your openness, thoughtful questions and willingness to share made each event what it was.

It was inspiring to see women engaging so meaningfully in conversations around leadership, life experience and financial decision-making, and supporting one another as they navigated their own paths.

We look forward to continuing the conversation at future Alteris Women events.
