Count her in: International Women’s Day 2024

Mar 13, 2024

International Women’s Day 2024 (IWD2024) provided the opportunity to honour the strength, resilience, and achievements of women worldwide, while recognising that women still face significant obstacles to achieving equal participation in the economy.

On Friday 8 March, Alteris Women hosted an International Women’s Day event with more than 40 clients and 20 staff in attendance. The theme for IWD2024 was Count her in: Invest in women; Accelerate progress. Our focus on the day was how we can increase financial literacy and education among women to help close the gender gap and generational wealth disparities.

We were very fortunate to have Kelly Power, CEO for Superannuation at Colonial First State, join us to discuss topics such as the gender pay gap, the differences in superannuation balances between men and women, why it is vital we connect with the next generation and help them understand money early in life, and how we look for solutions for all women to help them be more confident and in control of their financial future.

We also welcomed Dress for Success as our main charity partner. This organisation works to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and life. Dress for Success do amazing work and Alteris Women will continue to work closely with them into the future. On the day, we managed to raise $1,600!

We are looking forward to hosting more events throughout year and providing a platform to help advance the economic standing of women by providing insights, education, and tools that give them the confidence and empowerment to make decisions that best suit their needs. At Alteris, we are committed to helping our clients feel more confident about their financial future and reach their goals.
