The Rise of the Female Investor

Last month, we were preparing to host our International Women’s Day event, The Rise of the Female Investor. The energy was building and we had a room full of women attending.
Then, a few hours before the event, an unexpected power outage caused the building to lock down, and we had to postpone at the very last moment. But what happened next reminded us of what makes this community so special. As we began calling guests to share the update, many of you immediately asked how you could help. Some offered to pick up the phone and call other guests, while others simply wanted to check that our team was okay.
It was a powerful reminder of the care and support that sits at the heart of this community.
The comeback event
Alteris Women gathered on 17 April for the rescheduled event, welcoming a full house of more than 50 women for an afternoon focused on learning, connection and conversation. The event explored the growing shift taking place as more women step into greater confidence in their financial lives.
The afternoon was led by guest speaker Carolyn Reid, Head of Qualitative Insights at Kantar Australia. Drawing on the latest Finding Financial Freedom 2025 research, Carolyn explored the powerful shift underway. While we are not there yet, there is a clear appetite for women to move beyond financial pressure towards confidence and momentum. The purpose of the event was to bring women together in a supportive space to build confidence, ask questions and feel empowered to take the next step in their financial journey. Beyond the content shared, the afternoon created space for connection, open discussion, and shared learning.
“I was aware that women are not fully confident and empowered about financial freedom and education, but it was very interesting to see all the stats from recent research. Today was probably the most interesting and enjoyable event I have attended’’
– Event Attendee
Many attendees shared that they left feeling more informed, reassured and motivated, with discussions continuing well beyond the formal presentation.
What’s next? You shared, and we listened
On 13 May, we will be hosting our first Financial Education Workshop in Sydney called “Making Change”, developed in response to feedback from our community and delivered in partnership with a familiar face to many who have attended previous Alteris Women events, Jessica Brady.
The workshop has been created to meet a clear need we’ve heard from our community for practical, foundational financial education. This hands-on session will:
- Unpack the real drivers behind financial behaviours, from intergenerational patterns and family influence to the systemic factors shaping women’s financial outcomes
- Help participants understand their personal money beliefs and identify habits that may be keeping them stuck
- Share practical, realistic strategies to shift those behaviours in ways that create meaningful, lasting change
At Alteris Women, listening sits at the centre of everything we do, and we remain committed to creating experiences shaped by what matters most to you. We look forward to continuing this journey together.
